Birgit Ernst is Marketing Communications Manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI), where she is responsible for developing and implementing integrated marketing communications strategies for Dow Coating Materials (DCM). She is also part of the EMEAI DCM Business Leadership Team.
With a territory spanning diverse markets, segments, applications and audiences, she tailors communications strategies designed to tackle multiple requirements, balancing the need for targeted, sector messaging with a holistic approach to business branding.
Prior to this, Birgit Ernst was Marketing Communications Manager for Dow Building Solutions in EMEA, where she ran integrated marketing communications programmes targeted at key segments including building, core composites and spray polyurethanes.
She first joined Dow in 1985 as a Marketing Assistant for fabricated products in Italy. She became Business Communicator for the business in 1992, before being appointed Marketing Communications Manager for Equipolymers, a Dow/Petrochemical Industries Company (Kuwait) joint venture in 2004. Between 2007 and 2011, she took a role as Marketing Communications Manager for Dow Building Solutions in South Western Europe, as well as holding responsibility for Core Composites and SPU across EMEA.
Birgit Ernst holds a Master’s Diploma in Public Relations & Public Affairs from the I.E.D. Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan. She is an AICP-certified coach, a trained counsellor in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and speaks four languages.
